The summer months have kept us busy with travel, maintenance, and ministry. Jane has started developing fast, and it's been a blessing to see her personality and watch as she interacts with the world around her more and more.
Our work at Robbinsville First Baptist Church has increased over the past month, as I gear up for another school year as youth pastor. Together with our volunteer leaders, we have worked on a schedule for the year with lessons and events planned out. Our aim is to present ourselves as living models for what disciple-makers look like to the teens, and then disciple them in how to love and live like Jesus. It requires a lot of work and intentionality from all our leaders. The youth pastor job is an exciting part of our overall ministry, and our volunteer leaders serve as an ever present reminder what it looks like to do ministry and life as a team. This youth pastor role is a part time position, and I would not be able to keep working in this capacity if not for you, our support team, and ETM's commitment to local churches.
In my role in leadership development at ETM, I will be heading to Europe next month with our president, Vali Tent, to train local pastors in discipleship using ETM's Modes for Disciple-Making. I will be gone a week, and Vali three weeks, as we seek to minister and build up churches in Europe. Please pray for us, and if you would like to support this trip, you can do so here.
I have also been given the opportunity to teach a 12 week Sunday school class at RFBC on the topic of Sabbath, and how rediscovering this practice can revolutionize our spiritual walk and our weekly schedules.
RFBC is in the middle of a series on Ecclesiastes. I preached on July 30th on Ecclesiastes 3, which speaks about the seasons of life and presents us with 2 ways to live in light of the realities of life and death. You can watch that sermon here.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to serve both our local church and train leaders in the global church.
